Shelly's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

January 7, 2004

Alright! I can see they managed to get the year up to date!

We had a nice quiet New Years. Spent the day watching the football games-especially the Rose Bowl. It took place just over the hill from us. Usually we go to the Rose parade, but since Sean came along, we can't risk the germs from the other people just yet. We enjoyed USC winning the Rose Bowl. Ken graduated from there a few years ago, so we love cheering them on! Especially since Ken's parents HATE USC very much! Makes the game watching a bit more interesting.

Anyway, Back to Paul.
Paul went skiing with the Boy Scouts over the weekend and had a better time than normal. There were less scouts and the snow was much better. We had rain the day they left, which brought snow to the slopes for them. He came home tired and grumpy!

Back to school
School started this past Monday. He wasn't too thrilled to go back, because he forgot to work on his English project and his 50 sketches for Art. The end of the semester is soon, so he needs to get busy!

Tonight the young men from our church are going to the LA Car Show and to Tommy Burgers afterwards. This has been a tradition for years in our church. Paul is excited as this is his third year going.

Manners
Saturday is Manners night for the boys and girls 14/15 yrs old in our church. They are having a full course dinner with all the forks, spoons, knives and all that good stuff. It is California Casual, which was a relief for Paul. He was afraid he would have to wear a white shirt and tie. It should be fun. One of the Dad's is the host and all the moms are cooking the dinner and setting up. I am bringing sparking Raspberry juice. I can't stand the sparkling cider stuff. So we are bringing the good stuff!

Not much else is happening. Paul is growing taller and is trying to have a better sense of humor. Some times I don't understand it, but I am not sure if I am suppose to!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Shelly and Paul, the big guy

PS DH brother and family were here for Christmas. There are 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter total. We had a surprise picture done for grandma and grandpa while they were here. Beka was telling everyone she was surrounded by little boys and this "one big guy". :0) Now Paul is called the One big guy by everyone.
