Nancy's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 14, 2000

Whitney was an only child for seven years. So, when her brother came along she somewhat got her nose cut of, so to speak. Over time she has adjusted pretty well to having to share her parents with her brother. She has become a loving sister, who is very protective of her little brother.

As long as I can remember, Whitney has been very active in sports and physical activities. Her grandmother signed her up for ballet, when Whitney was just 2 years old. She got tired of that quick. She has been involved in softball, swimming and basketball. This year she tried out for seventh-grade cheerleader and made it. I think she is very good at it. She has that spunky and bubbly personality about her.

I have found out this year that she and I can be best of friends one moment and the next we are fighting. It seems that if I say something is black she will argue that it is white. I pray that this is a phase we are going through and it will be over soon. I want us to be as open with each other as we can, and keep the lines of communication flowing. All in all I have to say she is a good teen.

Well tomorrow is the first basketball game she will cheer at. I have my camera loaded and ready to be a proud mother. I hope she does well and keeps that smile that lights up her face, even if she makes a mistake.

I'll let you know how things go.

Nancy
