Melody's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
May 8, 2000
I started my new job at another large law firm today. After two and a half months off work, I had to come back, mainly because I needed stuff like regular paychecks and health insurance again, and I don't want to blow all of the inheritance money I received from my grandma. My daughter Melissa told me that sometimes she thinks I act just like a teenager. After all, it's OK for HER to be flaky and want to party with her friends, but for mom to be flaky and take two months off work? It's NOT supposed to happen! And, perhaps she is right. Perhaps, in my heart, I still am a teenager in some ways. Perhaps we all are, you know?
The job seems to be good so far. I get paid more money at this law firm and have less stress. I can handle that. Plus, I work at a really nice satellite office, which is small and more family-like in nature. And I think that's pretty cool.
Instead of putting Megan into daycare, I've decided to let my teenagers pick her up from daycare and watch her. I figure I've got three able-bodied teenagers living at home. Surely between the three of them, they can watch a 7-year-old girl! I mean, it can't be that difficult, can it?
