Where to begin......so much to catch up on
August 10, 2006
Hello again!
Sorry for the pause in writing, but as I think said in my earlier post, my Mom was here visiting after we back home, and then we have just been running constantly trying to get things ready for school in a couple of weeks.
Ok, school, I guess that is a place I can start with. The week we got back from
Ohio I got Joshua's schedule in the mail for the 2006-07 School year.
The first Semester Joshua has Advanced PE, Eng II, Geometry, & V Art I.
I guess there are good and bad factors about this schedule. On the good side,
Joshua has a chance to make a fresh start. There is not one of the teachers he
has this first semester, that he has had before, therefore none of them know his
work behaviors starting off.
Instead of having to change an already made up mind of a teacher that has already
had him in class before, Joshua can just have the proper mindset and do the work from the beginning and
not have the pressure of changing the way the teacher already feels about him
and his attitude.![]()
On the bad side, about the schedule, PE first thing, right at the start of the
day. YUCK!!, double yuck.
(cool)
!I have no problem with PE, I just really have a problem when kids have to have
PE first period of they day and they do not even get to take a shower before having to head out the the rest
of their day
. It is just so wrong! Not only is it unfair to the child not getting to take a shower, but then it
can be offensive to the rest of the classmates the rest of the day, and depending
on how things went the child in the class may have to feel sweaty and dirty the
rest of the day, there is only so much deodorant can do for a person, KWIM?!? But, I don't know if Joshua really feels this way. Joshua is not to
the point yet where he really care about his appearance, and showering is not
something he likes to do alot of these days, so PE first period may just suit
him fine. ( That is something I guess I need to get into in another entry, along
with all the antics Joshua's has done this past spring)
Second Semester is a little bit different story.Second Semester Joshua has Computer
Programming I, DFDrafting AR II Honors, Civics/Economics, & Physical Science.
The Computer teacher knows Joshua because of his interest in the Golf team last
fall, but Joshua has never had him in class. Joshua however did have two of the
other three Teachers he will have this semester. The drafting Teacher was pretty
good with Joshua and helped him out or allowed Joshua to stay after class many
times to get caught up or make up work, so hopefully things will be even better
for Joshua this time. Hopefully Mr.Y will see a new improved Joshua this year
and not have to keep on his so much. The same way with the Science teacher, Mr.M
was really wonderful with Joshua and I think really went out of his way to get
Joshua to where he passed the Science class he had Joshua in last year. So, who
knows how the second semester will start of, it is kind of 50/50 with what to
expect. But on the other hand, everything hinges on JOSHUA and the attitude and work hibits he exibits. So only
time will tell!![]()
In getting Joshua's schedule we also learned counselorcounslor is for the upcoming
year.Hopefully it is a good thing, but I don't really know. We found out that
our neighbor is assigned as counselorcounslor or at least that is the person listed
on his schedule. Mrs.B, who actually lives 2 houses down (and has one of the two
children in our Cul-de-sak that is Joshua's baby brother's age), was supposed
to be one of the counselors at Joshua's younger brother Tyler's Middle School
this year, but over the summer got the job at the High School. So at least we
have her to watch out for one of the boys. I just hope things do not go too bad
this year and that we can keep friends after all is said and done.![]()
Well I need to make it over to my other diaries and try to get a couple more entries out today, so I think I will go for now.
Once again, THANKS for reading and feel free to stop by my TalkToMe forum and drop me line. Here's the link: Talk to me on my diary feedback forum.
Until Next Time!........................................
God bless, Bridgett and Joshua
