Meeting the new neighbors and visiting back home......
July 12, 2006
As I write this entry we are back home in Ohio visiting family.
Since I have not written an entry in a while, I guess I had better tell a little
about meeting the new neighbors along with things up here.
There really isn't a whole lot to tell about being here in OH. Compared to the temperatures we have in Coastal North Carolina it is cold here,
and I about freeze at night
.I guess we are getting paid back for how the weather was when my Mom and Grandad
were down in NC visiting us, as it is storming and raining here also.
That is about all it did when they were down visiting us the begining of June
so that is what we are having here. Hopefully after this week the weather straightens
up and we have some nice weater next week while we are up here. DH has to do back
home because of things happening at work, but the kids and I are going to stay
up here in OH another week. So hopefully it will be good weather for us to do some things the second week
we are here.![]()
In the almost week we have been here there hasn't been too much going on besides
sitting around just relaxing and enjoying the country atmosphere here on the farm.
Before you get thinking how relaxing could that be, it is not really a working
farm these days. There are cows roaming the pastures way back behind the house
and there are a couple dogs tied at their boxes at each of the family houses here
on the farm and quite a few cats and kittens running around down at my Grandad's
house, but that is about the extend of the farm these days. We are out in the
country with trees everywhere and just a two lane county state route road running
by, but all in all it is peaceful with no real neighbors for a half mile and no
other sounds of anyone doing anything,
just the sound of rustling trees and birds and of course an occasional disgruntaled
cow voicing its opinion. Don't get me wrong, I totally love having neighbors and
love having other children for my children to go out and play with, but it is
so nice every once and a while to just have peacefulness.
Yesterday we did make the little over an hour drive down to Parkersburg, WV to where my MIL lives, to make a visit. DH's oldest sister's boys were there staying with my MIL, so it made it nice for the kids to have someone else to play with and to get to see the step-Cousins that they rarely get to see. My oldest Joshua and the oldest brother of the cousins Tyler are just about the same age and the younger brother Dylan and my middle son Tyler are about a year and a half apart in age, but they all got along well, even with Brianna. Asher on the other hand was a little of a pest to the older kids and mainly just stayed out in the livingroom with us playing with toys and the cat. My MIL has a large fat male cat that thinks he is kind of the house, but mostly he really loves the attention Asher gives him as long as he doesn't get to wild. We do not have any pets as far as 4 legged free to roam the house ones, so anytime Asher gets around cats or dogs he is just fascinated with them and wants to mess with them constantly.
Onto the subject of the New Neighbors.
As I think I mentioned in one of my previous entries, I got to briefly meet
the new nextdoor Neighbors June 30th after they finished with the closing of their
house. A week ago Monday their household belongings were delivered and then they
went back to where her mother lives and the kids were until after the 4th holiday
and were going to be back last Thursday with the kids to officially move in. Well
it ended up they did not get back to Jacksonville until late Thursday evening
so we did not get to see them or meet the children. We ended up leaving Friday
morning, so right as we were ready to go I noticed the neighbors were out so I
snuck over quickly, at least I meant for it to be quick, and took over some bananna-nut
muffins I had made in the middle of night as we were getting things ready to go.
I would made several different types of cookies and such and took it to them,
as I did with the new neighbors across the street from us, but not knowing when they
were going to be back for sure I didn't want to be left with a bunch of cookies
and have to take them with us if they didn't show up before we left. I really
did not have to time to make all the cookies either because Joshua had ended up
having rescheduled baseball games the last two nights before we left and hadn't
planned on having to take that time out of my schedule when we decided we were
going to leave Friday morning.
Anyway, Friday morning I went over to the Neighbors house and Brian was in the
garage. I asked if they liked bananna-nut and he said they loved it. I told them
I had brought them some muffins and would make them another little goody package
when we got back, but for now I at least wanted to get them some sort of house
warming. The rest of the family came out into the garage where we were standing
after Brian called out to them and they all seemed excited to have the muffins.
In fact before I left the house each of them had eaten a muffin or two and were
thanking me for the good muffins. Hopefully they really did like them and just
weren't being nice. Asher did come over as I was talking with Brian and Angie
and he got to make a quick aquaintance with the little boy Aaron and it seems
that the two of them might just end up being good friends. I will say they really do seem like they are going to be nice, friendly neighbors.![]()
I will end this entry now and I appologize for any typos there might be as things are not working right for me on this computer. I can not get my edit features to work(especially the spellcheck), things are running slow and the keyboard is not real easy to use. So, unless there is some interesting events happen before we leave in the next week or so I will probably wait to update again until we are back home.
Until next time............
God bless, Bridgett and Crew
