Its been forever again since I've been here, but should have more time now
July 2, 2008
First off I'd like to wish everyone a Happy and safe
4th of July
weekend!
I can't believe it has been over 5 months since I was last on here to write. I just do not know where the time has gone. Joshua is now 17 and Tyler is 13.5, so we are well on our way to growing up. Notice I didn't say maturing
, but getting older and growing up, literally.![]()
Speaking of growing up, Joshua has now bypassed me in height. Which, at only 5ft 3.5in., that isn't really hard to do, especially for a male. At last check Joshua was at 5'5" and still only 100lbs. So he is growing up but not out one bit. Tyler on the other hand is just a tad over 5ft and he also is right at 100lbs. Tyler having always been more of the heafty one, has thinned out considerably in the last few years, but he still has a little extra padding in the middle area, a bit of a spare tire, but not much of one. I just needed to add that for posterities sake. I did however buy him a pair of 14 husky shorts the other day and they actually fit him very well. Some 14's are a little snug around the waist, but he can't go up to a 16 because they too long and really saggy in the legs. In this one style I had bought him a 14R and they were kind of snug around the waiste, not much room for shrinkage when washed, but the 14H fit well with a bit of room. Tyler is starting to try to be conscious of his eating habits, but he is really hooked on sweets these days and he has a habit of eating so much for meals, which he has been trying to work on and also eating fresh fruit and low fat yogurt for snacks in between meals when he starts to get hungry, then trying to not eat as much during the meals and definatly not getting a second helping as he will alot of times.
Oh, I also forgot to mention, that both boys have made it on to the next grade. Joshua is officially a 12th grader/Senior and Tyler is officially moving on to 8th grade. Neither one of the boys did very well as far as grades go, for the last grading period. Tyler however did mangage to get an award for academic excellence on his EOG testing, scoring one of the highest grades on one of the parts of the test. Tyler also was one of only 2 students in the entire 7th grade in his school, to have Perfect Attendance!
The ironic thing is, it was one of Tyler's friends that got the other award for Perfect attendane. So now, it will be only Tyler and his friend that is in the running for the Jordan Shepard Perfect Attendance Award & Trophy for their Middle School career, next year at the end of 8th grade. So, I pray neither of the older Grandparents pass away and Tyler had not better get sick during the school year, because he will be going ill or not. This is something Tyler really wants to get. It is a big deal to most, but even more of an honor to us because the boy the award is named in honor of, was a classmate, teammate and friend of Joshua's when he was in Middle School, and Jordan was tragically killed during Christmas break on a family skiing trip, during their 8th grade year. Jordan had never missed a day of school or had early dismissal or late checkin at all in his entire school career from kindergarten until that day in 8th grade.
Joshua is still not that interested in driving. I don't think he has even driven a hand-full of times since he got his permit 7 months ago. Tyler on the other hand I think is counting down the days until he will be 14.5, so that he can take driver education and then get his permit as soon as he turns 15. Tyler of course is Mr. Social and has a reason to want to be able to go where he wants when he wants. But he had better be showing a lot more maturity and better judgement about things, or he will be waiting to get behind the steering wheel of any car.![]()
Well, I know I haven't given a ton of information this time around, but I think I need to end things for now. I'll give an update on the summer in the next installment of this diary.
Until next time.........(Thanks for reading, stop in and write on my TTM board)
God Bless,
Bridgett, Joshua & Tyler
Oh yeah, and one more thing. Im struggling on what to do with my Teen diary. Do I keep seperate ones for each boy, close down Joshua and open up a dual one for both boys or just change the tag line on this one. I think I will close out this one and open up a new one with both boys on it. That way I will still have the begining of Joshua's teen years. But then again, it might be best to have a seperate one for Tyler to have the begining of his teen years too.
