Just a short note about my old diary
June 11, 2006
I was just checking through the site and noticed that my old Teenagers diary, that I was writing for Joshua when the iParenting web-site was revamped and
the diaries went dormant, is still here.
I was told that I could not just restart my former diary, that they hadn't figured
out a way to do that easily or quickly maybe I should say, it would be very time
consuming, they would have to like cut and paste every entry into a new diary
in order for me to continue.
I had received a forwarded e-mail from Chris, the new Webmaster, about my wishes as far as continuing to write for iParenting. In my response to him regarding my diaries, I expressed to him I would really love to continue with my old diary, that way all the info from the time the diary was started would be there. In the mean time I contacted Shel and asked her( THANKS ! Shel), her opinion on the matter and it was suggested that I go ahead and request a new diary so I could get started back up quickly. Getting restarted was my main goal, so I went with the advice I was given and what my gut feeling was also, and requested a new diary.
The same day I started my new diary I was checking some old diaries where I used to write one of my other diaries, and one of the people that used to write an old diary ,before the dormancy,
was now once again active and continuing with her old diary. I thought for sure
I must have been mistaken
, that it wasn't as it seemed, but then I clicked on her index and sure enough,
the dates went from mid-2005 to now, June 2005. I was a little upset,
but more I guess I was sad. I was sad that all those entries form my Mom's dairy from the past 3 yrs were just gone for me. That my diary was going to start from that day and not all the trials we had gone
through, the birth of my last child and everything else we had been through those years
that I had previously written while I had the old diary. I mean it wasn't lost forever
, my dairy hadn't even made it from the old format to the new format, so that
diary was not an option for me to restart anyway, but there was my old Teens diary that I would have loved to restart, the past 1 1/2 yrs were gone. Let me say I did manage to figure out an old
bookmark where I used to access the diaries on the old format and redo it to find
my old Mom's diary on the old format, still in the server, and I have since gone and copied and pasted every entry into Word and burnt it to a CD to have
for ever more. It is just my readers do not have all that info about me and my family to figure out how
and why we are where we are today.
With Joshua I find that important for people to understand all that we have been
through to this point and figure out as to why I am about at my witt's end with
him most of the time
. So the good news is, sorry about the long rant getting to this, my old Teens diary is in the diary Archive section of these diaries. My name is spelled with only one "t" at the end, Julie never did fix it for some reason, but it is down at the bottom of the
list of archived diaries. The link to get to the archives is down at the bottom
of the main Teenagers diary page right below all of the diaries in the right corner.
So if you are interested in what has gone on in Joshua's Teen years so far up
to here and now feel free to check out my old diary in the Archives.
I also wanted to let everyone know that if you would like to contact me
, to comment, offer some advice
, or just stop by to let me know you are reading
(which I would greatly appreciate). You can click on the TALK TO ME button at the bottom of my entries, but as of now, our TTM buttons are not linked
to our personal boards or forums, what ever you want to call them. Our TTM link
takes you to the iParenting Forums period, right to the top where you can talk
to iP, and then you have to scroll almost all the way to the bottom to get to
the Diary Writers forums, and the Teens forums are about the very last section
on the list.![]()
Thanks for stopping in!
UNTIL NEXT TIME......
God bless,
Bridgett and Joshua
