Wow! iP is Back (and so am I)

June 22, 2006

I thought I'd say hi and let everyone know that, yes, I really am going to continue to write a diary here at iP about Ashley. The intro I wrote for her is about 9 mo. old. We've been talking lately, for example, of permits (to drive), and keeping grades up if a certain teenager wishes to ever have one. That's how old we're getting...my oldest daughter, that is.

So, what's been missed with Ashley? Well, I'd have to read my whole old diary to find out where I left off, so I'll just have to guess at what hasn't been said.

Ashley and I went and saw the Barlow Girl band and Rebecca St. James in person. She got to talk with the Barlow Girls and we have a (fuzzy) picture of her with them.

Ashley is on the swim team again, and beating her times by about 3 sec. for at least one event every meet so far this year.

Ashley is trying water polo in a summer league and has been asked by the local high school coach to join her team next year.

Ashley got to name our home school high school, now Barlow Christian Academy, and we are studying world history, the piano (using Piano for Quitters), and the "classics", among other subjects this year.

Ashley wants an electric guitar for her birthday this year.

Ashley has made a lot of new friends on the swim team.

Ashley is really, really starting to like (and, gasp, talk to) boys.

Ashley is about 5'5" and probably done growing.

Ashley has decided she wants 12 kids when she gets married.

Ashley has decided she wants to dye her hair auburn.

Ashley is reading The Phantom of the Opera, Don Quixote, Perelandra, Tales Before Tolkien, Weir of Hermiston, and just finished The Twits.

Ashley's favorite band is still Barlow Girl, with Superchic[k] a close second.

Ashley's favorite song is "Jesus Freak"; favorite song by Barlow Girl, "Let Go".

Ashley's favorite movie is LotR (special extended edition--can't make her choose between these!)

Ashley's favorite book is (shock) LotR (that's Lord of the Rings.)

Ashley's favorite author is (well, you guess...she said, "What do you think?")

Ashley's favorite color is dark purple.

Ashley's cat, Tabby (Tabitha) is still around and her favorite animal.

Ashley now cares about her grades because of the insurance, diver's license issue. (B average, or forget it!)

Ashley has decided she wants to study culinary arts in college.

Ashley actually wants to go to college now!

Well, that's all I can think of for now...just a list of facts on Ashley.  I've got to get back to work around the house as it is almost bedtime and there is so much left to do today.
